ETA Transit Systems (ETA) has been awarded a contract by the University of Colorado – Boulder in Boulder, Colo. to furnish an Intelligent Transit System (ITS) for the University’s “Buff Bus” shuttle.

University of Colorado has deployed this technology on 30 total buses including the University of Colorado shuttle fleet as well as City of Boulder HOP buses on University routes.

Driven by ETA’s SPOT system, the ITS will provide Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) that offers real-time arrival information to students and riding public. The system also provides a back end solution to help Buff Bus dispatchers and administrators to better manage the shuttle operations with powerful reporting and dispatching features.

Transit Director Bryan Flansburg understood that this technology comes at a very crucial time. He said, “ETA Transit has offered a solution which the University has always recognized as necessary in this new day in age. Providing student’s with arrival productions strengthens the relationship between the University and riding public while giving management powerful tools to do our jobs more efficiently and dig deeper in to our shuttle performance statistics”

ETA CEO Nicole Castonguay says this contract “helps solidify the idea that advanced technology is not just for large transit agencies, but can be deployed at small and medium sized agencies and provide just as much value.”
