First Transit Inc. announced that during the 2014 Meeting/EXPO of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) in Houston, Senior Vice President Nick Promponas was re-elected to the APTA Business Member Board of Governors.
The Business Member Board of Governors is responsible for directing and establishing activities for APTA’s business members. The Business Member Board of Governors also develops and makes recommendations to APTA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors regarding policies that represent the interests of all business members. This will be Promponas’ second term with the APTA Business Member Board of Governors.
As a senior vice president of First Transit, Promponas is responsible for ensuring that First Transit team members throughout the Western US deliver a high level of client satisfaction; meet First Transit and customer financial goals and objectives; and, continually improve operational performance.
Promponas has also been an active member of the Arizona Transit Association since 2011. In addition to professional boards and organizations, Promponas shares his time and his talents generously as a board member of About Care, a non-profit organization that provides support services for homebound individuals in the cities of Chandler and Gilbert, Arizona.
