DCTA Wins Multiple Awards

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) was awarded a total of eight industry and marketing awards this fall.

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) was awarded a total of eight industry and marketing awards this fall from national and regional competitions, including top honors from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), the Southwest Transit Association (SWTA) and Mass Transit Magazine.

American Public Transportation Association (APTA) 2014 AdWheel Awards

More than 500 entries competed this year in the five categories of print, electronic, campaign, special event, and social media. First place honors were awarded in various subcategories for each of the four groups, based on system size. DCTA received four first place honors at the 2014 APTA Annual Expo in the following categories:

  • 1st place for “EnRoute News” in the Print Media-Newsletter category
  • 1st place for “Summer Youth Pass” in the Print Media-Passes & Tickets category
  • 1st place for “New Responsive Website Design” in the Electronic Media category
  • 1st place for “Heart of Dallas Bowl” in the Campaign-Shoestring Campaign category

Southwest Transportation Association (SWTA) 2014 Marketing Spotlight Awards

DCTA competed with eight southwestern states, including transit districts in Texas, Arizona and Colorado, for the SWTA Marketing Spotlight Awards. The agency received four first place honors at the 2014 SWTA Marketing Conference in the following categories:

  • 1st place for “EnRoute News” in the Print Media category
  • 1st place for “New Responsive Website Design” in the Social Media category
  • 3rd place for “Heart of Dallas Bowl” in the Event Promotion category

Mass Transit Magazine Names Kristina Brevard Top 40 Under 40

Kristina Brevard, vice president of strategic planning and development for DCTA, was selected for Mass Transit’s sixth annual Top 40 Under 40 list. The magazine’s list honors professionals who have made significant contributions to the public transit industry. Honorees were nominated by their peers and judged on criteria that included job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, achievement in his or her position, and innovation in his or her field.
