Transdev announced it has signed a long term deal with Giro, for its Hastus scheduling and dispatch software.

Transdev announced it has signed a long term deal with Giro, for its Hastus scheduling and dispatch software.  Starting in 2015, Transdev will be rolling out the Hastus solution across its nearly 100 transit contracts in the U.S.  Globally, Transdev is also unifying on Hastus in its operations in 20 countries.

Transdev chose Hastus for a variety of reasons including its capabilities to optimize dispatch performance and runcutting, and its strong tools for managing labor utilization, overtime and extra board drivers.  Transdev delivers both improved quality and efficiency to its clients, and the strong performance management tools in the Hastus technology suite help ensure both increased service reliability and efficiency.

“We are very pleased that we will be able to bring this state-of-the-art software for scheduling and dispatch to our clients,” said Ken Westbrook, chairman of Transdev’s Transit Division.  “We are particularly excited to be able to offer these strong tools to our medium and smaller-sized clients, who on their own likely could not afford to acquire them,” he continued.

Transdev is currently piloting the Hastus software in its contract in Napa Valley.  The rollout of the technology in the U.S. will follow this pilot.
