Axiom xCell Inc. announced they have been awarded the contract to design, develop and support a new TAP Mobile Validator solution for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
LA Metro’s TAP Mobile Phone Validator will be a custom Android mobile application that leverages near field communication (NFC), GPS, Bluetooth and advanced encryption technologies to enable inspectors to read and confirm the validity of TAP cards throughout Los Angeles and participating TAP communities. When rolled out, the Android based TAP Mobile Phone Validator will replace the Nokia based validator previously provided by Cubic Transportation Systems.
