Electric Drive Transportation Association Partners with Largest Clean Fleet Event

Sept. 30, 2014
Newly announced alliance underscores the importance of zero-emissions vehicles in fleet operations to improve air quality, reduce fuel costs and offer valuable tax incentives.

Gladstein Neandross & Associates (GNA) on Sept. 30 announced a new strategic partnership between its annual Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo.

ACT Expo 2015 – set for May 4-7 in Dallas – will assemble more than 4,000 conference attendees and 250 sponsors and exhibitors to examine the latest alternative fuel and clean vehicle technologies for all weight classes—from electric drive, to hybrid, hydrogen, natural gas, propane autogas, renewables, and efficiency technologies.

“ACT Expo is excited to embark on this partnership with EDTA to help accelerate the pace of adoption and deployment of electric drive technologies in North American fleet operations.  Throughout the U.S., we are seeing records sales of electric vehicles, with the number of plug-in vehicles on American roads growing by 89 percent from this time last year,” stated Erik Neandross, CEO of GNA.  “Working with EDTA, the 2015 event in Dallas will undoubtedly have a bigger and better showcase of all things transportation electrification – complementing the existing lineup of AFV technologies – in one of the nation’s largest transportation hubs.”

Emphasizing ACT Expo’s fuel neutral stance, this alliance will focus on delivering an expanded electric drive agenda component to show how the industry is meeting growing charging infrastructure demand; showcasing a wide range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell vehicle technologies on the exhibit hall floor; and providing a forum for expanding the reach of EDTA’s members to a global audience of public and private fleets, OEMs, engineers, policy makers, government entities and many others.

“Electric drive vehicles are helping to advance American energy security, environmental sustainability, and independence from a monopoly fuel,” said Brian Wynne, president of EDTA. “Leveraging ACT Expo’s well-established reach into the fleet market will allow us to further grow awareness and promote the benefits of electrified transportation to a wider consumer audience, connecting with fleet operators at a true one-stop shop event.”

The new event partnership with EDTA signals a growing trend among leading alternative fuel industry associations working in collaboration with ACT Expo to advance the clean transportation market.  The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the industry’s leading organization focused on the market development for new propane-fueled technology, has signed on as a third-time presenting sponsor. Additional high-level industry partnerships will be announced in the coming weeks.
