Edmonton Transit Expresses Sympathy for Injured Child

At approximately 8:05 a.m. on Sept. 23, an injury-incident occurred involving a young girl and an Edmonton Transit System (ETS) bus at Rutherford Road and 16A Avenue in southwest Edmonton.

At approximately 8:05 a.m. on Sept. 23, an injury-incident occurred involving a young girl and an Edmonton Transit System (ETS) bus at Rutherford Road and 16A Avenue in southwest Edmonton. Emergency responders were called to the scene and the girl was transported to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

“ETS values the safety and security of our customers above anything else,” said ETS Branch Manager Charles Stolte. “We are deeply sorry to learn of the injury to this young child, and will ensure this incident is looked into in a thorough and comprehensive manner.”

ETS is actively working with Edmonton Police Services to investigate this incident. Information will be disclosed to media as it becomes available.

The city of Edmonton wishes to express its sympathy to the child and her family. We realize this is a difficult time and our hearts are with them.
