Rail Leaders`Summit: International Dialogue on Global Rail Industry Developments at InnoTrans 2014 in Berlin

An in-depth exchange of information on the dynamic developments in the global rail industry – that is what the Rail Leaders‘ Summit on the opening day of InnoTrans 2014 stands for.

Transport ministers and state secretaries as well as CEOs of rail companies and network operators are expected to attend this rail summit on Sept. 23 at the leading international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin. Representatives of the rail industry and of transport organisations and associations will also be taking part. Participants at the event will represent more than 40 countries.

According to Dr. Rüdiger Grube, chairman of the board of Deutsche Bahn, “The Rail Leaders' Summit has become a regular meeting place at InnoTrans for our high-ranking visitors from around the world who are interested in the latest rail industry trends. The focus of this year’s panel discussion, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, is on changing customer needs as regards rail transport in the digital age. We at Deutsche Bahn will provide a further impetus for networked public transport and for developing Mobility 4.0.”

The title of this year’s Rail Leaders‘ Summit is “Railways in a Connected World – Intermodal and Customer-oriented Mobility”. High-ranking figures will be taking part in the panel discussion. Besides Dr. Rüdiger Grube they include H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, CEO and managing director of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, as well as Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways and president of the International Union of Railways (UIC).

The Rail Leaders‘ Summit is coorganised by Deutsche Bahn and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in cooperation with Messe Berlin.
