New Solutions for Rail Vehicle Interiors at InnoTrans 2014

Sept. 2, 2014
Occupying three display halls, for the first time 280 companies will be showcasing innovative products whose key features are comfort, safety and design. It means that, compared to the last InnoTrans, exhibitor numbers in the Interiors segment have grown by 10 percent.

Without doubt, functional, safe and attractively designed rail vehicle interiors are highly appreciated by transport companies and passengers alike.

This is reflected at InnoTrans, where record numbers of domestic and international suppliers will be represented in the Interiors segment this year. Occupying three display halls, for the first time 280 companies will be showcasing innovative products whose key features are comfort, safety and design. It means that, compared to the last InnoTrans, exhibitor numbers in the Interiors segment have grown by 10 percent.

Every type of product from the rail vehicle interiors industry will be featured: seating, cladding materials, textiles, door systems and state-of the-art air-conditioning and safety systems. The topic of Travel Catering & Comfort Services will be featured with a themed route in Hall 1.1. Many companies will be presenting products making their first appearance on the world stage. Lantal Textiles, for example, will be showcasing its new product designs for rail vehicle and bus interiors. The exhibitors Euro-Shelter and Sabic will be showcasing their new materials and panels for covering interior surfaces for the first time in Berlin.

Trade fair event: International Design Forum

’Comfort, Functionality and Design – Innovative Concepts and Solutions for Public Transport and Interiors’, is the heading of this year’s International Design Forum. Two keynote speeches will examine topics such as travel comfort and interiors. Afterwards, at a panel discussion, representatives of companies will debate innovations, trends and the potential of ’Public Transport, Mobile Interiors and Design’. In addition, brief Pecha Kucha presentations will invite participants to exchange views and will provide an opportunity for networking.

The International Design Forum is organised by the International Design Centre Berlin (IDZ) and will take place on Sept. 24 from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the PTI Hall Forum in Hall 6.1. Admission is free for trade visitors at InnoTrans.
