Katrena Williams worked as a bus stock clerk for Miami-Dade Transit (MDT).

Katrena Williams worked as a bus stock clerk for Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). She had been with the department for approximately 17 years. Her husband, Vincent Williams Sr., is a 15-year MDT employee. He works as a rail structural repairer for track and guideway.

“Today I join the Miami-Dade County family and the residents of our community to mourn the tragic death of Katrena Williams, her daughter Makayla, and son Vincent Jr.,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “Katrena was a member of our Miami-Dade Transit Department where she worked as a clerk.  Her husband, Vincent Williams Sr. is also a part of our County family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Vincent Sr. and the entire Williams family.”

“As the Director of Miami-Dade Transit, and on behalf of the entire transit family, it is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of one of our employees, Mrs. Katrena Williams,” said Miami-Dade Transit Director Ysela Llort. “We want extend our deepest sympathy to her husband, Mr. Vincent Williams, and to their entire family, during this time of bereavement. The sudden and tragic loss of Mrs. Williams and her two beautiful children will be felt by all of us for a long time.”
