Keolis Commuter Services has named Michael Cawley director of human resources and training for the company’s Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail contract that begins on July 1, 2014.
In this role, Cawley will be responsible for all aspects of human resource management, creating a performance-based culture and building a world-class team to work for MBTA Commuter Rail operated by Keolis Commuter Services, a part of Keolis North America.
Cawley joins Keolis from Tufts Health Plan in Watertown, Mass., where he was senior manager, talent acquisition, corporate learning and development. He also worked as human resources manager at Lightbridge Inc. in Burlington, Mass., and as director of human resources at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department in Boston.
He has a MBA from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Suffolk University. He also completed a diversity management certification program at Cornell University.
“Michael has an extensive background in human resources, gained at a diverse range of public and private sector jobs in Massachusetts,” said Gerald Francis, acting general manager for Keolis Commuter Services in Boston. “He will part of our management team working to make Keolis one of the best employers in the Boston region.”
