On March 18, the Regional Transportation Authority is asking riders to join us in celebrating the contributions of the hard-working transit employees at Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra and Pace.

The RTA has created personalized “Thank You” cards that are available on its website that can be given to transit employees.  The “transit thank you notes,” are a simple and easy way to offer appreciation to the transit employees we all see every day.  In addition, riders can show their appreciation with a simple smile and a wave when they board their bus or train, or enter into a transit station.

"We all know the familiar faces we see each day, whether it’s the man or woman who works at the station or the operators who makes sure we get to our destination.  They become part of our daily commute and it’s nice to show we know them and appreciate them,” said Leanne Redden, RTA acting executive director.

Riders can help spread the word about this special day by posting on their social media pages using the hashtag #ihearttransit.  Official commendations are also welcomed and can be submitted to the CTA, Metra and Pace.
