KS: Topeka Metro Celebrates 40 Years of Service with Free Rides

On Oct. 1, the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority will celebrate its 40th Birthday by offering free rides.

On Oct. 1, the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority will celebrate its 40th Birthday by offering free rides.

Passengers using the fixed route service will ride free all day. Lift passengers will be allowed up to three free rides. Lift rides must be scheduled no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 30 by calling customer service.

“Celebrating this milestone of 40 years in Topeka affords the Metro an opportunity to share our service with everyone in Topeka at no cost”, said Susan Duffy, general manager of Topeka Metro. “What a great way to enjoy a beautiful fall day in Topeka. We welcome all Topekans to jump on the Metro and go to Gage Park, the zoo, the library, school or work.”
