VA: Christian Roberts Joins Parsons Brinckerhoff

Christian Roberts has been named U.S. director of rail and transit asset management at Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Roberts, who will be based in the firm’s Herndon, Va., office, will have national responsibility for leading the growth and technical development of Parsons Brinckerhoff’s asset management support services in the rail and transit sectors.

Roberts has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, at both the national and international levels, with specific expertise in leading asset management change programs and providing strategic support for asset management. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff he established a similar practice in the U.K. with an international scope in the transport sector.

His U.S. project experience includes management of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s strategic asset management program. He has led similar programs of work in the U.K. passenger rail and transit sectors including London Underground. More recently, Roberts served as the principal expert representing the U.K. at the International Committee responsible for the creation of an International Standards Organization (ISO) standard for asset management (ISO:55001),which is scheduled to be published later this year.

Roberts received Ph.D. and B. Eng. degrees in civil engineering from the University of Birmingham. His professional affiliations include the Transportation Research Board, Institute of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Asset Management.
