Axiomtek revealed an advanced OPS880 Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) compliant digital signage player.

It adopts the newly released 4th Generation Intel Core i5 processor using the 22 nm manufacturing process technology and the Mobile Intel QM87 Express chipset, offering advanced processing performance and power saving benefit compared to previous generation platforms. Compliant with standard OPS architecture, the new OPS880 delivers greater interoperability, lower total installation cost, and ease of maintenance without dismantling an entire signage system. In addition, the significant signage module supports Intel Active Management Technology 9.0 for optimal remote control management. The new OPS compliant signage player is an ideal choice for multi-display applications in shopping mall, corporate, education, hospitality, religious organization, bank, transportation, retail store, restaurant, performing art center and more.

“Axiomtek OPS880 is a space saving player designed to be plugged into any OPS compliant display. This signage module enables digital signage manufacturers to simplify installation, maintenance and deployment in a variety of digital out of home applications with ease at lowest costs” said Robert Wang, director of sales and marketing of the digital signage business unit at Axiomtek.

The extreme compact signage player provides superb graphics performance, full HD content playback, and dual display presentations. Apparently the new platform is designed to meet the various yet critical challenges of today's digital signage requirements.

“The 4th Generation Intel Core processor family utilizes market-leading video playback and enhanced graphics for smooth Flash playback and rich interactive 2D/3D graphics with high-quality visual playback, enabling a compelling visual experience for digital signage systems that display videos and interactive content,” says Sam Cravatta, product line manager, Intel Intelligent Systems Group.

The OPS880 is connected to displays via a standardized JAE TX-25 plug connector, and includes HDMI interface, DisplayPort, UART, audio, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 signals. The smart pluggable module is designed for quick installation and easy maintenance; saving time and money obviously. The OPS digital signage module also supports one 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet, RS-232 and USB 3.0 port to enable fast and efficient data computation and communication. In addition, one mSATA and two PCI Express Mini Card slots are equipped for flexible storage and expansion option. System memory supports one 204-pin DDR3L-1600 SO-DOMM socket maximum up to 8 GB capacity.

Axiomtek’s brand new OPS880 will be available by late July, 2013. We also offer OFP321 OPS-based signage display with 31.5-inch Full HD TFT LCD, designed to support OPS-based signage player.
