The Spheros Group continues to grow with the founding of Spheros Australia (Pty) Ltd, Melbourne, the manufacturer of tailor-made air conditioning solutions for buses is establishing itself for the first time on the Australian continent.

Until recently Australia was a self-contained, independent bus market with a well developed route network within and between the large cities. The market is gradually opening itself up to the major international bus manufacturers, currently in the city bus segment.

The Spheros Group is catering for the increasing activities of its customers in Australia with two new locations — in Melbourne and Brisbane. From these hubs the company will be acting with immediate effect as a strategic partner for the air conditioning of buses.

“Proximity to our customers and their needs is extremely important to us. Besides this, we must maintain an insight into the developments and trends on the bus market,” Helmut Zanker, CEO of the Spheros Group with headquarters at Gilching near Munich. “We can only satisfy the requirements placed on our products competently and flexibly if we have an experienced team with a local presence.”

Individual solutions

The demands placed on Spheros climate control products strongly depend on the regional conditions. For this reason, in addition to the standard product portfolio and after-sales service Spheros also offers its customers in Australia application development for individual solutions. Simultaneously, a reliable service partner network is being built up for second level service support.

Paul Williams, 39, will be assuming the position of managing director of Spheros Australia (Pty) Ltd. He has been an employee of Spheros Group for the past 15 years. During this time he held various positions close to the product and customer, including technical market manager application & service Africa, and most recently manager of the South African Spheros subsidiary in Durban.

With his comprehensive know-how in the technical and commercial sector he will be directing sales together with his four-man team, extending application know-how for development, expanding existing customer relations and establishing new ones.
