MN: Thermo King Celebrates a 75-Year Legacy of Innovation for the Transport Temperature Control Industry

Bloomington, Minn. site marked anniversary with employee celebration, open house and site tours.

Thermo King is celebrating 75 years of trusted expertise, innovation, partnership and performance in 2013.

Thermo King sites around the world, including more than 500 employees at the manufacturing facility in Bloomington, Minn., are commemorating this milestone with events throughout the month of May.

The Thermo King facility in Bloomington celebrated May 4, with an open house and site tours, games and family activities, a presentation from Thermo King President Ray Pittard, and a celebratory luncheon.

“For 75 years, Thermo King has been the refrigerated transport expert, providing the ultimate assurance of freshness, comfort, reliability, efficiency and performance for our customers every day,” said Ray Pittard, president of Thermo King North America. “Over the next 75 years and beyond, we will keep delivering what matters – more innovative, sustainable products and services that retain their value longer than any others in the industry.”

Thermo King operations in Bloomington have provided important benefits to the local community, with a long history of supporting organizations that enhance the lives of area residents and institutions. In 2012 the site contributed to community programs such as Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP), the United Way, the Bloomington Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Additionally, the site hosted a food drive on April 29 with the goal of collecting 7,500 pounds of food for area food shelves.
