The Regional Transportation Authority is pleased with Congress passing the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 to restore the federal transit benefit from $125 to $240 per month that will make it equal to the parking benefit.

The Regional Transportation Authority is pleased with Congress passing the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 to restore the federal transit benefit from $125 to $240 per month that will make it equal to the parking benefit. We further hope that this long awaited action will be made permanent following the December 31, 2013 expiration date.

We applaud federal legislators in passing a bipartisan measure that will keep public transportation moving forward as we continue to rebound from our struggling economy and accommodate our increasing ridership.

The Transit Benefit Fare Program has always been about getting people to work and encouraging them to use public transit by making sure that their hard earned dollars stretch further.
