Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)

Ten New Directors Chosen For OCTA Board

The Orange County Transportation Authority will welcome 10 new members to the board of directors following appointments made by the City Selection Committee of Orange County.

The new directors will be sworn in next month and in January as the current board members terms of office expire. OCTA’s 17-member board is comprised of the five county supervisors, two representatives from cities in each of the five supervisorial districts and two public members appointed by the board. In addition, the Caltrans director from Orange County serves as the 18th member in an ex-officio capacity.

Formed in 1991 by the consolidation of seven separate transportation agencies, OCTA has a $1.1 billion budget and leads the development and implementation of transportation programs for Orange County. OCTA is responsible for highway, street and rail planning and development, administration of voter-approved Measure M transportation funds and operation of Orange County’s bus system, paratransit service, the 91 Express Lanes, taxi cab administration and the Freeway Service Patrol.
