Fay, Spofford & Thorndike (FST) announces the appointment of Jerry Guerra to the position of manager of Marketing and Strategic Business Development.

Guerra joins FST after 10 years as president of The JAGG Group, a national marketing planning, public relations and market research company serving the engineering and design industries.

In his role as manager of Marketing and Strategic Business Development, Guerra will identify and achieve efficiency improvements in the firm's business development process, while broadening the focus of its marketing programs. This includes assisting FST with its ongoing expansion into new geographic and client market areas, while also leading the marketing department in creating and implementing innovative new outreach campaigns.

"We found Jerry's consulting background, industry experience and contemporary outlook on strategic marketing and business development to be the perfect match for where FST is now and where we're going in the future," says FST President and CEO Peter J. Howe. "We're counting on him to refine our marketing message and extend FST's reach into new areas and emerging marketing technologies."

Guerra began his career in the mid-1980s as a journalist, then spent nine years as an editor, consultant and partner at leading AEC industry consulting firm ZweigWhite.

"The fit with FST was ideal," says Guerra. "This is a rare opportunity to use the skills and knowledge I've developed over 20 years as an AEC firm consultant to contribute — on a full-time, dedicated basis — to a successful, respected and growing firm. FST has great people doing exceptional work for a diverse group of clients, and they've been doing it for nearly 100 years. There are so many stories to tell here, and I look forward to doing what I can to tell those stories."

Guerra, who has authored more than a dozen AEC industry books, is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He publishes the AEC Insight blog and is active on Twitter and LinkedIn social media sites.
