HNTB Corporation Names David Dye Senior Program Director

Dye's expertise with mega project delivery and management will enhance the firm's growing program delivery practice

David Dye, PE, has been named vice president and senior program director for HNTB's program delivery practice. In his role, Dye will manage program delivery projects across HNTB infrastructure markets.

Dye has more than 30 years of experience in the administration and management of complex transportation, transit and design-build projects. He joins the firm from the Washington State Department of Transportation, where he served as the deputy secretary and chief operating officer. 

During his tenure with WSDOT, Dye was responsible for overseeing the establishment of a new WSDOT organization charged with planning, funding and delivering mega transportation projects in the Central Puget Sound area. He also directed the creation of new policies and practices for the department's capital program delivery as well as managed the department's day-to-day operations. Dye was instrumental in the implementation of new design-build delivery methods for mega projects and an agency-wide performance-based highway maintenance management system.

"David has specific expertise in the implementation of new design-build delivery methods for mega projects," said David Downs, director of program delivery. "His leadership and experience will complement HNTB's services and strengthen HNTB's practice across the country."

Dye holds master's and bachelor's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington.
