FirstNet Planning Services are designed to support and assist public safety, state, local and federal agencies, and their potential private and non-profit sector partners in preparation for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).

Televate LLC, a provider of communications and IT solutions consulting for public safety and critical infrastructure industries, today announced the launch of its FirstNet Planning Services offering. FirstNet Planning Services are designed to support and assist public safety, state, local and federal agencies, and their potential private and non-profit sector partners in preparation for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).

“Stakeholders at all levels of government need to be engaged, informed, prepared and data-driven in their research, evaluation and decision-making in order to successfully construct and sustain FirstNet,” said Televate Managing Partner Rick Burke. “This monumental effort requires thorough assessments, planning, financial analysis, costs modeling, design evaluations and implementation support to rapidly meet forthcoming requirements and deadlines set by the NTIA.”

Televate’s FirstNet Services provide:

  • Implementation strategies, including NTIA RFI response preparation
  • Asset Inventory and Evaluation
  • System Design
  • Financial Modeling and Cost Analysis
  • Private Partnership Evaluation
  • Grant and Funding Support
  • Program Management

The core of Televate’s FirstNet Services was developed over the course of several successful large metropolitan area broadband projects, including the nation’s first public safety broadband network launched in the District of Columbia in 2004. More recently, Televate assisted the State of Minnesota in its comprehensive public safety broadband study released last month and considered a Best Practice case study for future public safety broadband planning and implementation efforts.

“We believe our proven expertise in designing, implementing and operating public safety broadband systems will directly benefit future FirstNet users to quickly understand and meet the future technological and funding requirements of the NPSBN.   With a portfolio that includes several of the 700 MHz waiver jurisdictions, Televate can help organizations jumpstart their broadband planning activities today and will serve as a trusted partner for FirstNet deployments,” said Burke.
