Halifax’ Metro Transit Partners with Nova Bus for Its New MetroX Buses

The order comes after the successful delivery in 2010 of 25 LFS Artic articulated buses to Metro Transit.

Halifax Regional Municipality’s Metro Transit has recently taken delivery of nine clean-diesel Nova LFS. The order also includes options on additional vehicles.

Metro Transit is expanding its MetroX commuter service and sought to purchase buses with strong curb appeal. With advanced design features including flush-mounted windows, all LED lighting options and branded bus wraps, these new Nova LFS will stand out from the regular Metro Transit fleet.

According to Gilles Dion, president and CEO of Nova Bus, “Aesthetic concerns play an increasingly important role in developing branded transit services and attracting riders. Our engineers are attuned to these needs and design vehicles that combine productivity, comfort and curb appeal.”

The order comes after the successful delivery in 2010 of 25 LFS Artic articulated buses to Metro Transit, who appreciated the accompanying level of service and support. Another key element in choosing to pursue their partnership with Nova Bus was the high degree of commonality between the 40-foot Nova LFS and the LFS Artic, since it translates into effective maintenance, streamlined training and simplified parts management, providing quality performance and productivity.
