Veolia Transportation in Chico CA Celebrates 25 Years of Service

On March 22, Veolia Transportation celebrated its 25th year as service provider for the Butte County community in Chico, Calif.

On March 22, Veolia Transportation celebrated its 25th year as service provider for the Butte County community in Chico, Calif. The celebration kicked off with special guests which included Jon Clark, BCAG executive director; Robin Van Valkenburgh senior planner; Jim Peplow, senior planner; and Kristy Bonnifet associate planner; along with Veolia Corporate representatives.

“To have partnered with Veolia Transportation to bring service to this community for 25 years is a quite an accomplishment," said Jon Clark, executive director of BCAG. “Our ridership has grown over the years as the community has grown. It’s great to know we have a trusted contractor who delivers good service on time.”

In the time since start up in 1987 service in Chico has grown to 1.3 million annual trips.

Veolia’s Regional Vice President Ron Bushman stated, “Butte County has been a great partner.  We look forward to 25 more years of providing service.”

Veolia’s General Manager Ibrahima Toure added, “It is an honor to lead this wonderful transit system’s operations.”

Veolia 67 buses and employees 110 staff and drivers.
