New JVC VN-H37 Series Cameras Deliver Full HD Resolution With Excellent Low-Light Performance

The new cameras offer 1080p full HD resolution with Super LoLux HD technology for superior color reproduction, even in low light, as well as Clear Logic Video Intelligence (C.L.V.I.) image processing, which offers superior wide dynamic performance, back light compensation, edge enhancement, and anti-fog capabilities.

JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., announced the release of its VN-H37 Series of IP-based security cameras.

Considered the intermediate line of JVC's new Super LoLux HD cameras, the VN-H37 Series includes four models: the VN-H37U indoor box camera, VN-H137U indoor camera with integrated housing and lens, VN-H237U indoor mini dome, and VN-H237VPU outdoor (IP66) vandal-proof dome. The VN-H37U and the VN-H237VPU are True Day/Night cameras, while the VN-H237U and VN-H237VPU feature JVC's exclusive fine focus adjustment technology for a more accurate focus adjustment. All models feature 3D noise reduction and SD card recording.

Super LoLux HD cameras offer multi-codec support, including M-JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 High Profile. JVC's H.264 High Profile DSP maintains precise image quality while offering up to 50 percent better compression efficiency than H.264 Baseline Profile or H.264 Main Profile, which are incorporated in other security cameras.

"Our new Super LoLux HD cameras deliver the excellent image quality that JVC is known for, along with the bandwidth and storage savings that customers expect from H.264," explained Ian Scott, vice president, JVC Security Group. "All H.264 compression is not the same. Many other manufacturers use H.264 Baseline or Main Profile compression schemes, which simply don't deliver the efficiencies of H.264 High Profile."

Each camera in the series includes a 1/3-inch Super LoLux CMOS imager that delivers high-resolution full HD 2.2MP at up to 30fps and matches the sensitivity (0.3 lux) of JVC's well established CCD-based cameras. Other features include motion detection, privacy mask, tamper alarm, digital PTZ, and eight preset, user-defined scene files. The cameras also support ONVIF and PSIA standards for network cameras, as well as a wide variety of leading video management software (VMS) platforms, including Milestone Xprotect.
