Freedman Seating Co. Purchases Assets of Braun Seating

The new company, Freedman Mobility Seating (FMS), will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Freedman Seating out of the former Braun Seating facility in Leiters Ford, Ind. with a continued focus on servicing the needs of the mobility van market.

On December 21, 2011, Freedman Seating Company of Chicago, IL purchased the assets of Braun Seating.  The new company, Freedman Mobility Seating (FMS), will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Freedman Seating out of the former Braun Seating facility in Leiters Ford, Ind. with a continued focus on servicing the needs of the mobility van market.

According to Christy Nunes, managing director of Freedman Mobility Seating, “This transaction will enable us to leverage the industry experience, market knowledge, product breadth and manufacturing capabilities of both companies to provide the best products, service and support in the industry.” 

Freedman Seating and FMS will continue to operate as they have previously.  Freedman Seating products will continue to be produced and shipped from the Chicago manufacturing facility and FMS products will be produced and shipped by Freedman Mobility Seating in Leiters Ford, Ind.  “Our immediate priority is to ensure that our customers receive the same quality and service they have come to expect, without any interruption” says Nunes.

Freedman Seating is a 119-year-old manufacturer of seats for buses, coaches, vans, trains and delivery trucks. It is also a partner of 4ONE Seating which supplies passenger seats to the heavy-duty transit market.
