Handheld US, a supplier of the best line-up of rugged mobile computers, announced the launch of its Algiz XRW rugged notebook with a touchscreen that makes the "best in class" computer even easier to use. The ultra-mobile Algiz XRW with its cutting edge technology and communication possibilities is the best value rugged notebook on the market.
The Algiz XRW is a fully rugged notebook with a 10.1-inch widescreen sunlight-readable display featuring MaxView screen technology which provides spectacular screen clarity and brightness in any outdoor condition, even direct sunlight. The new touch-screen will enhance user experience, making computing faster and easier. The Algiz XRW is one of the lightest and most compact rugged notebooks on the market, weighing in at a mere 3.3 lbs.
The full-featured and lightweight Algiz XRW presents an array of mobile capabilities. The Algiz XRW comes standard with Bluetooth, WLAN and GPS – often add-ons elsewhere – as well as a built-in 2-megapixel autofocus camera that allows video conferencing in the field.
Its keyboard and mouse-touchpad, illuminated by two led lights, are fully sealed, and it carries an IP65 rating against sand, dust and water. It passes MIL-STD-810G ruggedness testing, including drop tests from 1.2 meters, and can also handle extreme temperatures from -4 to 131 degrees F (-20 to 55 degrees C).
The Algiz XRW has a powerful 2 GHz Intel Atom processor. It includes a 64 GB solid state disk and 2 GB of DDR2 RAM. The Algiz XRW runs the Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate operating system, just like any PC in an office.
An optional 3G modem provides high-speed UMTS/HSDPA/EVDO data transmission. The Algiz XRW is ready for Gobi 2000 technology – which means it is possible to work on any choice of wireless frequency anywhere in the world. The 57.6 Wh battery works for 8 hours on a single charge.
The Algiz XRW is available immediately.
