First Transit Appoints Bob Edwards Director of Business Development

In this role, Edwards will monitor markets and develop strategies to acquire new business, as well as work to strengthen relationships with current customers.

Bob Edwards has joined First Transit as director of business development for the organization's Transit Management division. In this role, Edwards will monitor markets and develop strategies to acquire new business, as well as work to strengthen relationships with current customers. Edwards brings 25 years of transit experience and industry knowledge, which will assist in the growth of the organization, says senior vice president of First Transit Rick Dunning.

"Bob's experience within the industry, as well as with First Transit, is a real asset to our organization," Dunning said. "He comes with fresh ideas and an understanding of how to be successful within the many markets we operate. We are pleased to have him in this role and look forward to a successful start."

According to Edwards, he is excited about joining the team and looks forward to enhancing the business.

"In my new position, my main goal is to acquire a number of new transit management contracts each year, and continue to strengthen the division by sharing my experiences," Edwards said. "I look forward to the challenge and becoming a large part of the organization's many successes."

Edwards began his career with ATE Management in 1972. He earned his degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and his MBA from the University of Missouri. Edwards is originally from Wichita, Kan., and currently resides in Fort Thomas, Ky.
