MBCR Teams Up With The American Red Cross and Salvation Army For Tornado Relief Drive

Donated goods to be delivered to Worcester agencies via commuter rail

The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad (MBCR) is partnering with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army in a Tornado Relief Drive aiding those in dire need in western and central Massachusetts beginning Thur., July 6th and continuing through July 20th.

Commuter rail riders can make donations at drop off locations under the clock at South Station and at the North Station Information counter.

Additionally, MBCR is conducting an internal drive and asking employees to contribute to the cause.

Donations of bottled water, canned food and other non-perishable food, toiletries, underclothing for both adults and kids, and sheets are sought.

All donated goods will be delivered to Worcester via commuter rail and met by the two agencies for pick-up. They will then be distributed to families in western and central Massachusetts affected the June, 1 tornadoes.
