Former vice president for Automated Fare Collection and MetroCard Operations for the MTA in New York City, Steve Frazzini, joins Affiliated Computer Services.

Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), A Xerox Company, has hired Steve Frazzini, the former vice president for Automated Fare Collection and MetroCard Operations for the MTA in New York City, as vice president of fare payment solutions, as ACS advances its transit sector open payment business.

In his 25 year career in public transit, Frazzini was a key contributor in the development, implementation and management of New York City’s MetroCard Program, serving 9 million daily riders. The program accounts for $3 billion of fare media sold annually, with 70 percent of revenue capture through the acceptance of credit and debit cards.

Frazzini was also responsible for public transits first ever “open payment” pilot program in 2006, the first ever regional open payment in 2010 and the expansion of the current MetroCard program to several of the MTA's regional affiliates. Serving as a steering committee member for both the New York/New Jersey Regional Strategic Alliance (MTA, Port Authority and New Jersey Transit) as well as the MTA New Fare Payment System Initiative, Steve also managed the recently completed New York-New Jersey Transit Trial of a contactless, open-standard, payment approach incorporating multiple card brands, issuers, transit modes and agencies, with a full array of transit fare payment options.

He holds a master’s degree in public administration from New York University and is a graduate of Iona University.
