Aug. 06--Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said state tax revenue in July reached $2.34 billion, up 6.3 percent compared to July 2013.
State sales tax collections are now up 5.3 percent year-to-date.
According to a news release, the money Combs sends out for local sales tax allocations will be up 5.3 percent in August of this year compared to last. Combs will be sending a total of $706.9 million to cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts for their August local sales tax allocations.
Texas cities will receive $462.8 million, up more than 6 percent year-to-date, and counties will receive $44.6 million, up almost 4 percent year-to-date.
