NY: CDTA a Step Closer to New Bus Rapid Transit Funding

The Federal Transit Administration has approved the Capital District Transportation Authority's application to join its "Small Starts" program that makes the transit agency eligible for up to $50 million in funding for its next Bus Rapid Transit line, U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer announced Wednesday.

Schumer, who in March urged the FTA to accept CDTA's application, said the funding would help pay for the BusPlus Purple line connecting downtown Albany with Crossgates Mall, SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, the University at Albany, and the College of Saint Rose.
