FL: Thieves Steal Phones from Bus Passengers in Oakland Park

Broward detectives are searching for a thieving duo who stole cellphones from passengers on a Broward Transit bus in Oakland Park.

The thieves boarded the bus heading west on Oakland Park Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. June 13, according to detectives.

Surveillance video from the bus shows the two men positioning themselves near their intended victims — one in the back of the bus and the other in the middle section.

When the bus stopped at Andrews Avenue, the thief at the rear grabbed a phone from a man who then got up and chased the suspect out of the bus. Within seconds, his accomplice snatched a woman's phone and ran off the bus as the woman chased him.

The suspects are seen in the video wearing shorts, sneakers and blue jackets with "USA" printed on the back in white letters.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the thefts to call Detective Mohammad Razi at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-473-8477.
