June 23--The Regional Transportation Authority is seeking feedback from passengers who ride Sun Tran's express buses.
The RTA will host two open houses this week as officials look to evaluate the impacts of Sun Tran's recommended service changes, which the agency introduced last month.
The first open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library in the second floor conference room, 101 S. Stone Ave.
The RTA will host the second open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Oro Valley Library, 1305 W. Naranja Drive.
Sun Tran officials proposed changes to 28 of its 40 regular and express bus routes after conducting a comprehensive operational analysis, which reviews ridership statistics systemwide, as well as along routes and certain segments of routes.
The recommendations from Sun Tran included a variety of route changes and realignments to several express bus routes, which prompted the RTA to ask the Tucson City Council to postpone any changes to express service.
The affected routes are the 102X, 103X, 105X, 107X, 202X, 203X and 312X.
RTA officials wanted to solicit more public feedback from express bus riders.
Ultimately, the city council voted to delay changes to all affected bus routes, both express and local, until later this year.
