Two people were shot overnight — a 16-year-old boy in Little Village and a man in the Uptown neighborhood.
Police said a man was found shot about 2:20 a.m. in the CTA Red Line station at Lawrence Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood. Police found him at the Lawrence Avenue Red Line station but said he had been shot at the Argyle station about two blocks north.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.
Police ended up finding a crime scene on the train, which departed the Lawrence Avenue station and was eventually stopped in the CTA yard south of 95th Street, police said. Authorities found blood near the operator's station in the train.
A spokeswoman for the CTA said service would not be delayed.
Earlier, a boy was shot in the Little Village neighborhood Tuesday night and is in critical condition. He was shot on Trumbull Avenue, just north of 27th Street, about 10:30 p.m. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Police said he had been walking when someone stepped out of a van, fired at him and fled the scene. No one is in custody.
