An off-duty MTA bus driver was awaiting arraignment last night after being arrested Saturday in Queens for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without insurance.
Edward Sanders, 49, of Nassau County, hit another vehicle in his 2009 Hyundai Genesis at Cross Bay Boulevard. by the Belt Parkway. He fled the scene and was apprehended and arrested at 96th St. and 149th Ave. in Ozone Park a little after 10:30 p.m., said a police spokesman. The arresting officer noted "that there was extensive front end damage on his car" and "the smell of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and red eyes," said the spokesman.
Attorney information for Sanders was unavailable.
