A majority of Westchester County commuters drive by themselves. Some 60 percent of commuters drove alone while 20 percent took public transportation, the Census Bureau's 2011 American Community Survey found.

The average one-way daily commute for U.S. workers was 25.5 minutes, with one in four commuters working out of their county, the American Community Survey found.
