GA: One Airlifted, 5 Others Injured in Accident Involving MARTA Bus

Six people were injured, including one man who was airlifted to a hospital, in an accident involving a MARTA bus Tuesday night, Fulton County police said.


Six people were injured, including one man who was airlifted to a hospital, in an accident involving a MARTA bus Tuesday night, Fulton County police said.

A MARTA bus was traveling southbound on Roosevelt Highway when it tried to turn left onto Buffington Road in front of a northbound Toyota Corolla, according to investigators.

When the vehicles collided, the adult male driver of the Toyota was seriously injured, Fulton County police spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The man was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, while his female passenger was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Four adults on the bus were transported to Grady with non-life-threatening injuries.

Names have not been released.

No charges have been filed, pending the outcome of the investigation, McBride said.
