July 21--A Mountain Line bus collided with a car at the intersection of Fairmont Road and Holland Avenue on Wednesday, sending one woman to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The accident was reported at 6:32 p.m. to MECCA 911.
Patrolman Bucky Forbes, of the Westover Police Department, said the bus was traveling straight, toward the Mountain Line Transit Authority depot on Fairmont Road, and the car was turning left onto Holland Avenue from W.Va. 100.
The woman taken to the hospital was among three adults and two children on the bus. Scanner traffic indicated that she had a knot on the back of her head and a bruise on the back of her hand.
Forbes declined to identify the woman because her family had not yet been notified of the accident, but he said she was only taken to Ruby as a precaution.
Neither of the car's two occupants were injured.
No one was cited at the scene of the accident, and Forbes wasn't sure who was at fault. He planned to review traffic camera footage to determine which driver had right-of-way.
