The teenage girl who was carried by a man from a Metro Transit bus Friday night in Minneapolis has returned home safely, a Metro Transit spokesman said Saturday.

The man, who is distantly related to the family, was not recognized by the girl when he picked her up and carried her off a northbound Route 19 bus at Olson Memorial Highway and Penn Avenue N. at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, spokesman John Siqveland said Saturday afternoon.

Metro Transit police interviewed the young woman and the man who took her from the bus, as well as other family members. All parties cooperated and are no longer of interest to police, Siqveland said in a news release, adding that Metro Transit is grateful to citizens who provided information that assisted in finding the parties.
