Foton sells 15 renewable energy buses to Hunan mass transit firmBeiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd, a Beijing-based automobile manufacturer, has signed a sales contract with state-owned Hunan Bus Public Transportation Co., Ltd (HBPT) for 15 renewable energy buses, the company announced May 17.
Foton did not disclose financial details, but did note that it has received a deposit from HBPT for the deal.
In 2010, Foton sold 682,900 automobiles, of which 1,905 were renewable energy vehicles.
Entering the renewable energy vehicle market in 2004, Foton plans to boost its annual renewable vehicles sales to 225,000 by 2015, accounting for over 15 percent of its total automobile sales.
