Police Investigating Bus Crash in Tavares

April 21--TAVARES -- Police are at the scene of a bus accident on U.S. Highway 441 at this hour. The crash, reported to Tavares police about 10:20 this morning, involved a 32-passenger LakeXpress bus near Angelo's Restaurant. Some routes will be delayed as authorities are dispatching a replacement bus to the scene.

April 21--TAVARES -- Police are at the scene of a bus accident on U.S. Highway 441 at this hour.

The crash, reported to Tavares police about 10:20 this morning, involved a 32-passenger LakeXpress bus near Angelo's Restaurant. One minor injury has been reported, but westbound traffic headed toward Leesburg is snarled.

Some routes will be delayed as authorities are dispatching a replacement bus to the scene.

LakeXpress is Lake County's public transportation service which operates a fixed-route system and a special appointment-only paratransit service for older adults and persons with disabilities.

The route affected by the crash is a cross-county connection and travels from Eustis to The Villages.
