Successful Implementation of Station Platforms Between Car Barriers
Between 2000 and 2010, the LACMTA did not have a between car barrier (BCB) system fully compliant with the Federial American with Disabilities Act and the Federal Transit Administration for its entire rail vehicle fleet. In 2007 there was a determination by LACMTA staff to find a universal and effective BCB safety device.
This whitepaper focuses on the challenges associated with the successful implementation of BCBs throughout LACMTA.
