CA: Person Hit By BART Train in Hayward
BART service through Hayward was briefly halted Tuesday after a person was struck by a train, authorities said.
The person was trapped under the northbound platform at the Hayward Station when firefighters arrived at 4:25 p.m., said fire Capt. Thor Poulsen. After an hour, rescuers were still unable to reach the victim or determine his or her condition, Poulsen said.
It was not immediately clear how the person ended up on the tracks.
