Lynchburg Looks to Build Better Streets
Lynchburg is pursuing new policies aimed at building better streets.
The city, which is updating its comprehensive plan, has just completed a set of workshops on the philosophies known as "Complete Streets" and "Green Streets."
Complete Streets, already increasingly reflected in the city's various master plans, calls for planners to think of all travelers when designing a road. When possible, amenities should be created for pedestrians, bicyclists and public transit users.
