SYSTRA, a global leader in the mass transit and railroad industries, is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to provide internal and external coordination, management, and oversight of all administrative activities related to the development and implementation of SYSTRA’s strategy and goals.

The CAO must develop a thorough understanding of a SYSTRA’s policies and overall mission, and how each is best executed; must delegate, organize and generate innovative ideas to help the company's bottom line; will play an important role in sales, marketing, and advertising, overseeing financial planning and results, project execution, and enterprise resource management processes. The CAO must become knowledgeable in every facet of the company. They must be driven, confident, organized, and an accomplished problem-solver. Also required are strong verbal and written communication skills, and someone who works well with others at all levels of the organization.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Arts, Business, Engineering, or Applied Science; a Master’s Degree in Business Administration; a minimum of 10 years of related work experience; and the ability and willingness to travel to various SYSTRA locations (detailed position duties and requirements below).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Reporting to the President & CEO, works closely with the executive team and senior management on defining, documenting, and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
  2. Implements corporate goals and tracks results against approved metrics.
  3. Reviews RFQs, RFPs, proposals, pricing and contracts.
  4. Assists with strategic hires and their on-boarding.
  5. Coordinates work across corporate functions such has Marketing & Business Development, Engineering, Planning, Project   and Construction Management, and Finance.
  6. Assists executive team and senior management prepare and report on budgets, projects, headcount, and resource planning.
  7. Plans effective business operation strategies and processes.
  8. Partners with executive team to assist with the implementation of strategic objectives.
  9. Assists with the development of marketing material.
  10. Compiles presentations for the President & CEO and Board of Directors.
  11. Develops and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of internal systems and processes. This includes the corporate enterprise   resource management system.
  12. Creates and delivers training and educational programs for employees.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

  1. Bachelor Degree in Arts, Business, Engineering, or Applied Science.
  2. Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of related work experience is required. 
  4. Willingness and ability to travel to all SYSTRA office locations, including project offices.
