East and West coast based international leading manufacturer of safety systems for mobile applications has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, results-oriented Sales and Business Development Representative with experience in the School/Public Transit and Recreational Vehicles Industry. Representative will perform field promotional work to sell and develop new business; effectively and accurately communicate product attributes in an effort to generate sales; as well as identify key customer accounts and develop a strategic and tactical sales lobbying plan to bring proactive product awareness and system solutions to target customers. Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Technical or Business field and have 5+ years transportation industry related sales experience and knowledge in safety systems for mobile applications. Must be self-motivated and goal oriented. Must possess exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, phone and written skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SalesLogix. MAS200 experience a plus. Must have existing relevant contact base, ability to maintain customers and develop new clientele. *Regional Transit Manager *
San Luis Obispo (CA) Regional Transit Authority
The San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is seeking a visionary and results-oriented leader to serve as it Regional Transit Manager. The RTA provides area-wide transit services to the residents of San Luis Obispo County (pop. 265,000) and its seven incorporated cities. The County is located midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the picturesque California coast.
Appointed by and reporting to the RTA Board of Directors, the Regional Transit Manager is responsible for planning, establishing and managing all functions of the RTA. The Manager serves as the RTA's Chief Executive Officer and has administrative responsibility for the Agency, its Board of Directors and its advisory committee. The RTA is supported by a budget of $6.8 Million and five full-time staff.
Ideal candidates will be highly skilled transit professionals who possess excellent technical, interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, candidates should have a proven track record of building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including RTA Board Members, RTA member jurisdiction staff, and the local regional transportation planning agency (the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments). Candidates must have proven skills and experience in transit planning, contract management, financial and budget preparation and administration, personnel management, transit services planning and contract management. A Bachelor's degree and six years of experience in increasingly responsible transit operations and/or management positions is required.
