Peerless-AV offered a look at its outdoor kiosks and displays, it waterproof design is completely contained - providing easier maintenance and durability for passenger displays.

At APTA Expo Peerless-AV provided a spotlight on its outdoor, sunlight and waterproof displays, Peerless-AV Xtreme. The displays have the ability to be viewed in direct sunlight, making it easy for passengers to view signage and route information in a variety of weather conditions. The Xtreme Displays come in 42-, 47- and 55-inch sizes.

"It has a IP68 rating," explained Kevin McDonald, sr. director, national accounts, Peerless-AV . "It could be submerged in water. No dust, bugs or water are going to get into it."

"The heat sync pulls the heat away and inside there is cooling, so there is nothing for the customer to maintain." McDonald explained that the displays are also easy to clean with a hose.

"The off access viewing doesn't get disoriented due to the optic bonding," said McDonald. The Xtreme displays are optically bonded, which allows for the direct sunlight readability. This deflects the issue that displays that are installed in direct sunlight will struggle unless an optic bonding element has been employed within the device.

McDonald explained, "with optic bonding its like going outside on a bright day with your sunglasses on, you don't get that contrast."

Peerless-AV also showcased its all-in-one kiosk. The kiosk has a Wi-Fi antenna and a touch screen. The all-in-one kiosks can be customized by agencies to include advertisements or passenger information.
