March Networks’ RideSafe Lets Customers Upgrade to IP

Oct. 14, 2014

The RideSafe GT Series Hybrid Transit NVR launched by March Networks is a reporting platform that allows customers who have made large analog investments to move their video capabilities to IP at their own pace.

Taking a modular approach, the system can handle up to 20 IP cameras, but can be upgraded over time. Customers can start with a 4 IP camera system, the NVR (network video recorder) can be upgraded in the field which is a big cost savings for companies that want to migrate to IP and put more cameras on the vehicle over time without having to upgrade the system.

The platform also allows March Networks to bring together both sides of its business, the fixed and mobile business. The entire platform is managed by its Command video management software which allows an agency to cover its mobile fleet, wayside, commercial buildings, park and rides and any other asset within the same browser. That allows the agency to gain efficiencies to manage and monitor its assets within a single system, train employees on a single system versus cross-training, and leverage it across on enterprise-class scale.

A QR code on the front of the recorder is tied to March Network’s smart application GURU to improve the efficiency of technicians out in the field who need to work with and on the product. “By just scanning the QR code, a technician can pull up the warranty information, create an automatic RMA ticket, plus there is a Chain of Custody feature,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks.

“The Chain of Custody feature is huge for the industry,” confirmed Keith O. Winchester, North America Transit Director - Mobile, March Networks. “It’s sealed and locked with the GURU app. We are bringing a solution to the agencies that is process driven, embedded inherently in our technology and that provides efficiency along the way.”
