Mitun Seguin, Director of Marketing, Veolia Transportation 

Mitun Seguin is responsible for marketing programs that support Veolia Transportation’s management teams in its locations across the country. She is responsible for developing, customizing and implementing a wide variety of tools, programs, initiatives and software applications. The marketing materials, ads and other creative Seguin has helped design have won dozens of American Public Transportation Association Ad Wheel awards, setting a standard in the industry.

She is seen in the company as a champion for the passenger, leading many strategic and highly visible projects focused on empowering locations to better serve customers and consistently improve quality. Seguin was a key member of a global team that designed the company’s award-winning customer service training program, “Going for Green.” She successfully implemented this comprehensive program in 40 locations in the United States.

She was also part of the global team that designed the company’s innovative customer feedback program, “Listen,” which records all customer feedback in an online database and manages the process of responding to all customer complaints and inquiries. This is the strategic cornerstone of the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) platform.

Seguin has helped design and is now implementing a new “Mystery Traveler” program to measure local teams’ performance from the passenger’s perspective, ensuring quality standards are met.

She is highly skilled in emerging digital technology to enhance passenger information and has been instrumental in the development of the company’s brand identity in North America. She has led the implementation of Veolia’s social media monitoring technology and trains the locations to use it to listen to passengers and to disseminate information. She is leading the effort to use social media to deepen the company’s relationship with passengers.

Seguin executes the company’s market research efforts, executing numerous quantitative studies each year focused on measuring passenger and client satisfaction. She also leads the team that built and manages the company’s Intranet, where managers learn about the initiatives, programs and progress of the company.

Seguin is a graduate of Leadership APTA (class of 2006- 2007) and is an active member of the APTA Marketing & Communications Committee, as well as WTS and COMTO.

She is also passionate about education and is very involved with her children’s PTA organization, currently serving as the vice president.
